The King of Shades - Final release and thoughts
After 8 grueling days of coding/drawing and QA testing, I've published my first game outside of a game jam!
In this game, you take control of a young shade wizard who wants to prove itself worthy of being crowned The King of Shades. To accomplish that goal, you must defeat every opponent that is ranked above you, each one stronger and more skilled than the last, in order to have a shot at challenging the current King and snatch the crown for yourself!
This game is brief in the time it takes to complete, and it's mechanics are a combination of a card game, a strategy game and a boss rush within a turn-based combat system.

This game was created originally for Pirate Software - Game Jam 15, but as the deadline grew closer I decided I wanted to expand further upon the concept and here we are, almost a week later after the Jam submissions period ended (🥲).
As the theme of the Jam dictates, the game is related to Alchemy and Shadows, so that's were the main mechanic of combining elements to create spells comes from.
The recipes are very intuitive and quick to learn, and also the game has an automatic save function so, if you wish to comeback and retake your shot at the King, you can always return to were you left off!
